COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED … THANKS TO EVERYONE THAT ENTERED

I’ve only gone and convinced Mel it’s about time to dig out her hat again and offer some free tickets to the JustMaths Conference in June.

Back in the Summer term when we were about to launch the ‘Super 60’ we wanted to celebrate the event with a prize draw to offer a few free subscriptions – we had so many Twitter folk, Facebook buddies and blog readers enter – Mel had buy a huge hat to put all the entries in!  Mel is once again digging out that hat as we offer 5 schools 2 tickets each to come to what we know will be a great day.

On Tuesday 27th June, we will hold the first JustMaths Conference at the Alton Towers Hotel Conference Centre (situated right in the middle of the 2 hotels for those who know the hotel). We have managed to secure ALL 4 of the exam boards to not only sponsor the event but to also present and offer us teachers support in areas such as: accessing the foundation Scheme of Work, Post 16 GCSE resit issues, using good performance data to inform teaching, how elements in the Assessment Objectives will be assessed and how problem solving skills can be developed in students.  The presenters on the day include Edexcel’s Graham Cumming, AQA’s Andrew Taylor, OCR’s Eddie Wilde, WJEC’s Syra Sadique, the legend Craig Barton and recently added – representatives from OFQUAL.  What a superb opportunity to reflect and plan going forward!

We are determined this will be a conference like no other – we want this to not only offer key support and a chance to reflect and plan going forward, but to also be a key opportunity for teachers (and maybe even whole departments) to join together with a huge sigh of relief (I personally also want to pick up a load of free pens!).

And of course… prepare for some twists throughout the day – it is at Alton Towers after all!

To be in with a chance of picking up 2 tickets for your department, by Friday 31st March either:

  • Leave a comment on this blog post below (It’ll give Mel something to do by having to approve them all .. she has loads of free time!! I’m hoping she is just going to “copy and paste” my text and this doesn’t get deleted!) or
  • Retweet the “pinned” tweet on @Just_Maths Twitter profile page with a link to this blog post or
  • Like this post on Facebook or
  • Mail mel@justmaths.co.uk

(If you have already booked yourself on to the conference, please do still enter – if you win we will credit back the cost to your school).

Good luck all – I’m now getting off Mel’s Blog.
