This is my superhero introduction to simultaneous equations … I don’t mean that I think the resource is heroic, just that its “superhero” themed.

This week I’m going to do simultaneous equations and the attached is a nice introduction using picture of superheroes instead of “x’s” and “y’s”. I’ve made it into a Powerpoint (instead of the original notebook that we use at school) and consists of 5 questions, which can be used as a starter/settling activity. Last time I used it, I loved being able to say to the students that they had effectively been solving two equations and the discussion that ensued about what is and isn’t an equation was brilliant.
