The attached (and solution) has been put together as an extension to an earlier connect 4 I made for this subject. The idea is that students can be pushed on once they are confident with simple expanding and simplifying  – if I get through both of these in one lesson with my year 10s I’ll be a happy bunny.

All of the connect 4 worksheets have had some logic applied to them so that the students can’t just choose to do the easy questions, and in order to connect 4 there is some progression – its a bit like the thoughts and crosses activities you can find on TES but without being so explicit to the students that the questions are differing difficulties … teaching by stealth 🙂
