Seager has been raving about this kind of thing for weeks – so I’ve given in and put the attached (worksheet and Solution) together. Any similarity to persons living or dead, is purely coincidental! I needed names, and wasn’t feeling very imaginative!.Â
It seems like a nice little starter to get students thinking and if it works well with my groups next week, I’m thinking it’ll be a nice thing to produce once a week as a starter, in addition to the literacy “thing” I do, once a week – each group has to come up with as many maths words, beginning with subsequent letters of the alphabet – we’re now on the letter F and the following week I announce a winning group (who has got the most words). This means that the new groups are getting into a routine and know what to expect at the start of every lesson so I usually get a nice smooth start to those lessons.
