On the first day of Christmas my teaching job gave to me:
A stinking bout of man flu!
On the second day of Christmas my teaching job gave to me:
Two snotty nostrils and
A stinking bout of man flu!
On the third day of Christmas my teaching job gave to me:
Three sleepless nights,
Two snotty nostrils and
A stinking bout of man flu!
On the fourth day of Christmas my teaching job gave to me:
Four aching limbs,
Three sleepless nights,
Two snotty nostrils and
A stinking bout of man flu!
On the fifth day of Christmas my teaching job gave to me:
Five days of headaches,
Four aching limbs,
Three sleepless nights,
Two snotty nostrils and
A stinking bout of man flu!
I have more verses but I hope you get the idea … I’ve been ill.
I am sure that since coming into teaching I’ve managed to catch every type of cold and flu that exists and this week’s variety was an absolute stinker, peaking with me having an “actual” sick day yesterday (I think I’ve only had about 10 days off sick in the whole my working life of 21 years so taking a day off is not done lightly!) but today being the last day of term I just had to go in.
Since I found out that it’s a bit of a tradition that each tutor group has a “bit of a do” before going off for the Christmas break I’ve been winding my group up, telling them that we’ll be doing what we normally do in tutor time … “Maths questions”. Let’s just say it did not go down well with them. However, I can assure you that we didn’t do that and a good time was had by all! I even managed to get in the Christmas spirit and wore my VERY FIRST CHRISTMAS JUMPER (Oh Boss … what have you done to me?!? … I’m putting it down to my weakened state of body and mind!?!?) :
So from me and Seager … have a great Christmas one and all.
PS: I’ll be back “proper” over the weekend as I ease myself back into the land of the living x
