Over the half term I wrote a blog post about how the school we work at appearing on a “list” on the DFE website that were supposed to have received a letter of congratulations (in relation to 2015 results) from Nick Gibb but weirdly our gaffer at work had never received anything. I explained how it was odd that Alcester Academy was at the VERY bottom (along with another school) of this list of 320 (ish) schools yet the excel sheet was sorted by URN (unique reference number) which would have meant that our school should have been further up the list. Well, I have an update!!
Paul Hyde (the BOSS at work) has spent some time this week chasing the letter and today he received the below ….
Weirdly it was dated yesterday and there is no acknowledgement that the letter is late or even offering an explanation as to why this was the case (there were no flowers either if you’re wondering!!) All of this is irrelevant in the scheme of things – it is nice for the whole school to get the recognition it deserves given that 12 months ago the school was still officially “requires improvement” and awaiting inspection from Ofsted.Â
It is fabulous for the school to be able to announce today:
It is crucial at this point to say this is a whole school effort and the students deserved to get some (most?) of the credit … they worked so hard! It is recognition for them too!
