I’ve got a very open mind about the changes at the DFE but it was good (of course it wasn’t!) to see the PR & media machines were at work already when I saw all over my Twitter timeline that the DFE confirmed today there would be “no … year 7 resits in the 2016/17 academic year at least”.

Let’s make this clear … There was never any plan to introduce them in the 16/17 year – this has been confirmed already – in fact in a letter I received from the House of Commons via my MP last week Nick Gibb stated ““we have been clear that the Year 7 resits will not be implemented in the next academic year”.

Just that!
