MONDAY 1st JULY 2019
ALTON TOWERS HOTEL
Join fellow maths teachers and ALL of the exam boards at the 3rd annual JustMaths Conference where leading specialists will share and enlighten us with updates, support and quality CPD. The TV legend Johnny Ball will kick start the day that will provide the opportunity to take back to the classroom ideas and proven strategies to support GCSE maths teaching.
Sessions will include:
Neil Ogden (OCR) – Delving into GCSE performance
Neil will review areas of GCSE maths that candidates have done well/less well on so far and will look at how we support candidates in these areas.
Andrew Taylor and Craig Barton (AQA) – How to get the most out of exam questions
Andrew and Craig will show a number of ways that exam questions can be used for much more than simply practising exam questions.
Graham Cumming (Pearson) – A student review of the Summer 2019 examinations
In this session, Graham will review the Summer papers from a students perspective, with a brief look at the A level papers too.
Clarissa Grandi (www.artfulmaths.com) – Mathematical art in the GCSE classroom
This session will introduce a selection of ready-made lesson resources designed to maximise engagement and support learning across different areas of the GCSE curriculum.
Plus lots of surprises and prizes throughout the day!
(The main focus of the day is GCSE, but there will be plenty of support available for KS3 and A Level).
