Mrs Ms Christmas Quiz. Every term I put together a different quiz lesson (Xmas – Quiz – 2012) that the whole department uses.

Usually I let the students choose their own teams (its the only time of the year that I let them do this and they know that to be the case) and  they spend a couple of minutes choosing a team name, which all go up on my white board as a scoreboard. There are five rounds, each with 10 questions and there is broadly (very broadly) speaking a maths theme, so its not just a “doss” lesson. The days of showing videos on the last day of term are long gone!.

When it comes to marking the answers we swap sheets between the teams, which is always interesting as some of the students are convinced that their answers get changed!. Whenever I spend some time putting it together I know we are on the countdown to Christmas.
