So thoughts are turning to the new term and I am genuinely excited. Tomorrow evening I may feel differently!?!? We have a new member of staff joining the department who will be responsible for numeracy, which means together with myself, Seager, Will (who is also teaching his Science specialism) and two Assistant Heads we are … Read more
Here we go again … This type of headline scares me … you can’t see the entire article but you’ll get the gist. There is no denying … actually I’m going to edit myself … there is no denying that some reports would present findings that culminate (either matter of factly or go “around the houses”) … Read more
This will be the last post of 2014 and oh boy what a year is has been! I’ve done the #nurture thing for the last two years and reading back on the previous efforts makes me cringe. I can’t believe how much has changed but also how much of me “as a teacher” … warts … Read more
Every time I eat cheese and onion crisps (usually because they’re all that’s left!) I think “these really are nice and I quite like them”. Anyone would have thought that there was an election soon. Oh there is! Silly me! Driving into work this morning, having watched yet another bit of “teacher bashing” on breakfast news it occurred to me that I couldn’t imagine anyone doing a similar drive to their own workplace thinking “I know what I need to … Read more
I have been sent the Ofqual teachers’ update no. 10 as I wasn’t aware that it existed, but there is an interesting comment hinting that there will be further revisions to the guidance issued to exam boards which will mean that they have to take this into account if and when it’s published (I’ve identified the … Read more
