JustMaths Conference 2019 … Mel and her hat!!

COMPETITION NOW CLOSED …

Here we go again! It’s that time of year where I (Seager) takes over Mel’s blog for a limited-edition, ONCE per-annum guest appearance. Yes, that’s correct….Mel has agreed again to dig out her hat!

On Monday 1st July, we will hold the THIRD (yes…third!) JustMaths Conference at the Alton Towers Hotel Conference Centre. We have managed to secure headline sponsorship from OCR, Pearson and AQA who will be on hand all day to support and answer questions. The presenters on the day include Graham Cumming, the duo Craig Barton and Andrew Taylor, Neil Ogden, Clarissa Grandi (artfulmaths.com) and a special guest appearance from the TV legend Johnny Ball (Zoe Ball’s dad for any reader born after 1980!). What a superb opportunity to reflect and plan going forward!

We are determined that our conferences are like no other (ask the 250 who attended last year and the year before!) – we want the day to not only offer key support, a chance to reflect and plan going forward, but to also be a opportunity for teachers (and maybe even whole departments) to join together with a huge sigh of relief after the exams have finished for another year (I personally also want to pick up a load of free pens from the exhibitors!).

And of course… prepare for some twists throughout the day – it is at Alton Towers after all!

To celebrate reaching 25000 followers on Twitter (as I know Mel is too embarrassed to mention it)! we’re giving away 5 pairs of tickets. To be in with a chance of picking up a pair of tickets for your department, by Friday 12th April either:

• Leave a comment on this blog post below or
• Retweet the “pinned” tweet on @Just_Maths Twitter profile page with a link to this blog post or
• Like this post on Facebook or
• Mail mel@justmaths.co.uk (She loves this bit!)

(If you have already booked yourself on to the conference, please do still enter. If you win, we will credit back the cost to your school. Also – if you are not successful in this draw and are planning on booking, please don’t leave it too late – we normally ‘sell out’ by May!).

Good luck all – I’m now getting off Mel’s Blog until 2020.
Christian (Seager)
