For some reason students love a sealed envelope in lessons and last week I used this to my advantage. For my mechanics students’ homework  I  – printed and glued some “top secret/mission impossible” sheets onto envelopes. It was a bit of fun,  to create a sense of intrigue but also, to put a focus back onto the importance of homework, which seemed to have drifted off a bit recently.

There was absolutely nothing special about the worksheet that was inside it .. it was the same as I would have set them anyway but as I sit here marking their work (amazing effort for some of them) I am wondering if the novelty has had the desired effect.

Oh well .. I’d better get back to it.
