To be honest I think last night/this morning was the MOST NERVOUS I have EVER been before an exam – for reasons unknown to me!.

Overall I felt that paper 1 was fair – our “super group” in the main felt that they we well prepared and it gave them a great deal of confidence to see lots of the topics appear that were on our walking talking mock that we did with them last week (this was the “thang” I mailed out to loads of you last week so hopefully you had the same response too!). Obviously not everyone will have aced it but now is not the time for a post mortem, now is the time to take action and either turn things around or improve on what you’ve already done.

Now that paper 1 is done and dusted our thoughts have moved very quickly to paper 2 which is why I’m beavering away on putting together our “Best Guess” paper but in the meantime we’ve put together the below list of topics that we are focussing on for paper 2 (Edexcel Linear!) – it’s made up of the topics that we believe are worth revising. Given that tomorrow is the last day of term the turnaround on this has to be quick so I’ve already asked the admin team to email out to parents and I’ve put it on our VLE and I’m sure that many of you have done the same. As with all these things there are no guarantees and are meant to form our “Best Guess” for all higher tier students. In addition to this there are some “top end topics” like transforming functions for students aiming for grades A/A* but the below are the ones that all the students need to “nail” in their final paper.

PS – We’ve checked it’s OK to discuss what appeared on paper 1 (and it is BTW, but I haven’t anyway!)
