Paper 2 practice papers

NOTE THAT THESE PRACTICE PAPERS RELATE TO SUMMER 2018 PAPER 2 ONLY

I’ve written about the “between papers” practice papers we used last year in a previous post so this evening I’ve been busy putting these together for Edexcel based on the list of topics that Seager sent me which of course I’ve checked … twice (I can’t help myself!!)  … so this is a joint effort and I can’t take all the credit. I must say (again) that this isn’t about predicting topics its about providing students with SOMETHING … ANYTHING with some focus to work on .. there are no guarantees

So for Edexcel there are 4 practice papers (with m/schemes and examiners reports) and the intention is that papers 1 to 3 are suitable mainly for the Foundation kids but could be used for the Higher tier students too … paper 4 is then Higher tier only. There is enough here for a holiday homework, a session over half term and also something to do the week after half term too!!

In addition to the above I’ve been sent the two below papers from Lindsay Coren who is Head of Maths at St Lukes in Devon which may be useful for even more practice .. remember! To revise maths you have to “do maths”:

In terms of AQA, I’ve only done one paper for each tier but also a topic list (thanks to Don Walker and  Adam Smith for giving me the solution!) :

In terms of OCR, I’ve only done one paper for each tier but also a topic list (no solutions yet … but do check back! and please note that some of these require a calculator … I kept forgetting that their paper 2 is non calculator!)

I will be doing similar for paper 3 .. and have already put these on the JMOnline in the teacherstoolkit / extras / revision and exam prep and also emailed them out to those of you that access JMOnline

As usual, may or may not be useful.

  1. Hi Mel thanks for these , just a point the link for the higher tier only questions seems to go to the markscheme not the questions

  2. Hi Mel,

Thanks so much for this! Every little bit of extra practice helps! Will be sharing with my Y11 class.

A few of the questions on the OCR papers you’ve made need a calculator to solve however. OCR Paper 2/5 is their non-calculator one. Might be worth adding a warning or something to those ones.

  5. Hi Mel, Is there any chance you can create a post similar to this for paper 3 with links to some predicted/best guess papers for paper 3.

    Thanks
